Favorite gadget in our tiny RV
In our RV, my wife’s day does not start until she has had her coffee. This kettle packs down very small and uses less energy to boil water than the microwave: both critical in a tiny RV. We had been using a JetBoil until we got a collapsible kettle: no more flammable fuel, the kettle pours better, and the kettle freed up a lot of space in the cabinets.This set includes a collapsible pour over funnel that also takes up less space than our Melitta Pour-Over coffee funnels. Since there is a stainless steel mesh screen in the funnel, we can still make coffee when we’ve run out of paper filters (we try not to run out since unbleached paper filters remove a chemical that can raise cholesterol levels).Another collapsible kettle had a dial for setting what temperature to hold the water at, but turning the dial to OFF did not turn it off. This kettle has a simple on/off switch which makes my wife a lot less nervous about unplugging the power cord. Both kettles come with power cords that are too short.As always, compare prices before purchasing.

Flat Out the Coolest Portable Tea Kettle
Who would have thought that someone would invent a folding electric tea kettle? Hauling around a tea kettle in your luggage is pretty much impossible unless you first stuff it with your socks. Well, lo and behold, this flexible food-grade silicone-bodied tea kettle does exactly that. It collapses nicely into the smallest, flattest kettle you can imagine.I like that it comes with a standard IEC C13 cord that is commonly used for computers. Which means you probably have a several longer compatible power cords that will work just as well as the too-short version supplied with this product.It takes a little practice to master the assembly and collapsing procedure. Once I got it together, it actually boils water fairly quickly!
