Very handy to have while traveling.
Makes me feel much safer. The fit was good at my hotel and it served its purpose. I think it is fairly easy to use, and of high enough quality for safety and portability. Please be aware that all doors are different and universal fit isn’t necessarily possible as locks and door handles differ greatly, but this is a good solution for many.

Works well
Offers added security! I’m a relatively heavy sleeper and travel often! This device is not necessarily a “stop someone from breaking in” thing… but it will sound an alarm if someone is trying to get in unannounced. My wife is especially concerned about safety when we travel so we have a CO alarm and I picked this up as an added level of security! It is incredibly easy to install and will alert you to any activity that disturbs it once installed! I love it and would highly recommend it if security is a concern when staying away from home!

Interesting concept, a bit difficult to work and setup
I had seen similar items on social media and I think even some “As Seen on TV” commercials, but I don’t know if this is a different model or if I just haven’t quite figured out how to work this, but the batteries also do not fit into the compartment well and I can’t even get it closed sometimes. It came with batteries, which is a nice change of pace to the common “batteries not included” trope. However, I do think the actual alarm could be louder… Which you would think would be the feature that is most invested in, but I just thought there was a small kitten or bird in my bag while it was chirping and I was trying to dig it out. I hope I don’t actually need this item in a life or death situation or something, but it still does provide a certain comfort with owning it.

They didn’t work on any of the doors in my home
It can’t be used on a door that is recessed in the door frame with a door knob on the right as shown in the first photo — it’s an absolute no go. (The directions noted that this won’t work with a door tongue over 1.1 inches. It would be most unlikely to know in advance what kind of doors will be in hotels when traveling) Next I tried this door lock on a door that is barely recessed into the frame with a left side door knob. The small upper cut out claw fit fine. However, this portable door lock is not easy for one person to set up. I would’ve needed someone else holding the red handle out of the way to be able to close the door since I had to hold the metal piece in place. I will not be taking this for solo travel. On the positive side the portable door lock appears to be very well-made and sturdy (it weighs 5.4 oz). It came with well written, directions, two batteries and was in a very nice little case.

Solid Extra Security – Loud Alarm, Takes a Minute to Learn
I got this to use at hotels or other places where a little extra security feels helpful. Overall, it works well and gives me peace of mind.The alarm is plenty loud—I didn’t capture audio, but it’s strong enough to be heard throughout the entire first floor of a house. Once attached to a door, it feels secure and doesn’t seem like something that could be easily tampered with from the outside.The only tricky part is installation. Attaching it to the door was a bit confusing the first couple of times, mostly because the instructions are just so-so and the pictures aren’t very clear. After a few tries, though, it became straightforward, and I uploaded a video that might help others get it set up faster.For the price, it seems like a decent value. It’s compact, loud, and adds an extra layer of security when you’re staying somewhere unfamiliar.
