Doesn’t fit on all doors
As a flight attendant, I’m no stranger to hotel rooms & the occasional whisper of an attempted room entry. I ordered this tool for extra piece of mind. It works great on older doors, but I’ve found several newer models aren’t able to accommodate the locking tool (see photos).

Small But Mighty – Great Extra Lock for Peace of Mind
I picked this up for a recent trip where I wasn’t quite sure how secure the hotel locks would be, and I’m glad I did. The HOME MASTER HARDWARE portable door lock is a simple but effective little device that gives an extra layer of protection, especially when staying somewhere unfamiliar.It’s surprisingly sturdy for its size. Once installed, it really holds the door in place. I tested it by applying some pressure from the outside (just to be sure), and the door didn’t budge. The metal feels solid—not flimsy or gimmicky.Setup took a couple tries the first time, but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy and quick. Just make sure you’re using it on an inward-opening door with a standard latch—otherwise, it might not fit properly. I had trouble using it on one Airbnb door that had an unusual frame design.It’s light and comes with a small pouch, so it doesn’t take up any room in my bag. Definitely something I’ll keep in my travel kit going forward. It’s not a replacement for a real deadbolt, but as a supplement, it adds a real sense of security.Would recommend to frequent travelers, especially solo ones, who want an easy, affordable way to feel a little safer at night.

Very small links on chain
I got this for my teenage daughter to use in our house to help her feel safe. Her teenage brother has special needs and these hotel locks give her another level of comfort knowing he cannot get in if he was triggered and mad at her. I got this one when she had misplaced her old hotel lock. Since then, she found the other brand she had before getting this one.Unfortunately, I do not recommend this new one since I know there are better options if you spend a little more money. The chain on this one is considerably smaller, as shown in the picture. I wouldn’t feel confident that it would keep someone from breaking in.

Viral Door Stop
While this viral door stop works as intended, and quite well, this particular order from this seller doesn’t include instructions on how to use it. I nearly destroyed a door testing this because it worked, but I couldn’t get it to disengage and there wasn’t any instructions, so I had to sit and do research to avoid being trapped inside the room.The item itself is great, but the packaging not having instructions is a real risk when it involves rendering a door unusable.
