Safe and secure!
So, my daughter found a spare key to her apt taped outside her door and has not felt safe even though she took it in. I got this for her on the advice of a master locksmith and it works so well she even got a letter asking her to remove her “deadbolt”! No one can get in there without her knowledge now!! Super easy to use, super sturdy and heavy, works perfectly. And now her lock was fixed she can keep using it or save it for travel. Zero regrets!!!

Better than the red one.
I think the best part about this product is the fact that it can offset the unevenness between the door itself and the door frame. It makes it a bit more universal and I love that, because it makes me feel safe. Although it’s small and relatively cheap, it’s good quality and has kept up so far.The only thing preventing me from giving 5-stars is this: if you tighten it to actually sit well against the door, then it will dig into the door frame (or whatever you’ve got that round bit on) and it leaves a dent. It doesn’t damage the paint, and you could make it looser, but at the tightness level I prefer for safety it digs in. Honestly not a detrimental issue but it’s not perfect. Either way, what you get for the price is better compared to that red one.

Super secure and helps you rest easy in hotel rooms
I have never felt safe in hotel rooms and recently went on a trip and ordered this (I normally go alone on business trips). It was easy to use, fairly lightweight and seemed very secure. I ended up not using it on the door to the hallway, but instead there was an adjoining room door! I did not realize this when I booked, but was grateful for this handy tool. I installed this on the door between our room and was really happy I had it! I plan to buy another one in case the room we book has an adjoining room we are unaware of; and I plan to buy one for my classroom door in the event of a lockdown. Fits in the palm of my hand. It feels like heavy duty metal and I love the bumper to adjust for height differences…seems like a great value for the price.

Single post/screw is not effective
I tried installing this travel lock both in the deadbolt strike and the door handle strike, and I found both ways that the single post/screw design is just not effective. The lock is supposed to be held in place by tightening the screw so that the side post creates leverage against the doorframe. However, as you continue to tighten the screw, the whole device just leans off to the side until you are about to screw the metal wings into your doorframe (because the side post isn’t long enough) and still have no stability to the lock. Also, the minute the deadbolt is undone or the door handle is turned, the wedge-piece of the lock has nothing to hold it up straight inside the strike plate, so the entire lock just collapses and it’s hit or miss if it would still prevent someone from entering at that point. If the person trying to enter jiggled the door handle enough, they could easily circumvent this lock. Either way, your doorframe is going to take a beating because the device has no padding. It really needs double side posts with padding to create leverage against both the doorframe and the door so that the main screw doesn’t tilt sideways or collapse as soon as the door handle moves.

I travel and stay in hotels throughout the world. Most hotel doors have security locks, but I like this added security tool I can install myself. Great!

Useful if needed
A good option to have available if needed. Very quiet and nice quality. But not my favorite simply because it takes a while to twist off the part that secures the lock itself. I imagine it’s needed but my concern was for safety incase we need to leave quickly. Definitely gives peace of mind compared to not having it available.
