Perfect for solo apartment dweller
I use it for my apartment front door which only has a single deadbolt that maintenance also has a key to. I set this up at night knowing no one including anyone with a copy of the key to my door can open it.

Great for solo trips.
Went on a solo trip to Boston and these were a great peace of mind purchase. I got a pack of two so I could put it on the main hotel door that leads to the hallway, and the second for the bathroom door for when I shower for extra security. At first I thought they didnt work for the type of hotel door that leads to the hallway, but after 30 seconds of just trying all options, I found it does in fact work.Highly recommend!

Nice insurance for travels
I travel a lot and haven’t really had any issues at hotels that would cause me to worry about hotel room safety. However, a few months ago, I was in a room and house keeping knocked on my door while I was in the shower. Waiting only a few seconds, they used their key to open the door and I had forgotten to lock the door from the inside. That was a wake up call that anyone with a key can open a hotel door, so I decided to order this just in case.I was surprised at how heavy duty this felt. The metal feels really strong and everything seems to be well made with smooth edges. This has some weight to it, which is good. Not just cheap stamped steel.I tried it out in my house, but my house is pretty old and on most of my doors, the wood under the lock plate was not chiseled out completely, which does not allow this to sit flush. It’s not an issue with this door lock, but rather my old house, but it’s something to keep in mind if you are in an older AirBnB.I was able to find a door that this did work on. Installation is pretty straight forward. Just slip this with the correct size hole to fit the lock plate, holding it in place while you close the door. Once the door is closed, slip in the wedge piece in one of the triangular slots on the main plate and you’re done. I am really surprised how strong this holds the door closed. I’m not going to test to see if this can withstand a kick in, but this gives me more confidence that someone cannot open my door even if they have a key, especially if I’m staying at an AirBnB. If you travel a lot, get this.

Neat product that works!
I always thought the idea of these was cool and they really do work! I’m not sure how much force it would take to kick a door in with these but it definitely stops the door from being opened normally. Any door without a lock can now by locked with this
