Great addition to our beach wagon. So much nicer than a easy up tent.
I am very happy with this sun shelter. Until we got this, we used to bring a 10×10 easy up type tent to the beach. The easy up worked well, but it is big and heavy when compared to this sun shelter. It is easy to carry and easy to setup. The integrated sand bags are a great addition when comparing it to securing the easy up tent on the beach.Ease of use: It’s simple. We have found that the key to setting this up well is to stretch it out on the ground first, then fill the sand bags and then put the poles in place. The tent should be taut, but not tight. Just don’t leave any slack. Pay attention to the direction of the wind. We have found that it is difficult to not have some overhang of the tent. We make sure the overhang is not facing the direction of the wind. The tent will move a lot less if the overhang is on the opposite side the wind is blowing. Adjust the overhang by moving the tent poles closer to the corners, where the legs of the fabric meet the top.When filling the sand bags, don’t be stingy. Put as much sand as they will take. We have found anything less than 1/2 filled, they will move around when windy. If they are filled, they stay put and the tent does not flap around much at all. The tighter the fabric, the less movement there will be. Make sure to sink the legs a couple inches into the sand.All told, it takes maybe 10 minutes to setup. The most time is spent filling the sand bags. We use an ice cube scoop that we bought from the dollar store along with the scoop that came with the shelter. The ice cube scoop is a little bigger than the scope that is included with the shelter and it moves a lot of sand.Packing it up is about just as easy, but it is quicker. The legs fold into three parts. Everything, included the additional scoop we bought fit into the included back. It’s very lightweight and easy to carry.

Awesome Beach accessory!
Amazing tent. Super easy to set up and take down. The shovel worked to fill the designated sand bags to stabilize the tent and also useful for digging the holes for the poles. It was the first time I used the tent and it was for the beach, I was able to set up a full size blanket and a few beach chairs my entire party was very comfortable. Great tent great quality. Lightweight portable great purchase!!!

A 5th pole in the middle may be good for height especially at the beach where the outer poles tend to lean in. Otherwise worked real nice!

Super easy to set up, but the instructions could be a little more clear. I did think the poles would be a little taller than they are, but it works just fine. Incredibly lightweight and the carry bag is really nice to have.

Did not hold up with the wind. Regret buying this!! The beach always has wind and this tent could NOT handle it. Some people beside us had the same tent and theirs was collapsing as well.

Should have bought a long time ago. Always have people watch us put it up and ask questions. No more dealing with umbrellas! Easy to set up and wind doesn’t seem to bother it. Large shade area so we aren’t moving chairs around chasing the shadow. Lighter to carry than umbrella and no worry, sand doesn’t stick to it! I love this thing!

It’s ok. I wouldn’t trade 2 umbrellas for it. The setup requires a family. As my wife doesn’t get up at 7 am to secure our beach spot. I’ll stick to umbrellas.One of the poles bent on our first day. But it survived a week at the beach but it takes two people to stretch it out properly

One of the toughest things to manage while going to the beach is having access to shade close to the water. Further up you can be in the trees but they are often taken. Plus it’s nice to be able to alternate sun/shade according to your tolerance, as well as have a constant shady spot for storing coolers, snacks, bags, etc.While it’s not yet beach weather so I haven’t tested putting this up yet, I’m really looking forward to trying it. It comes in a zippered storage/travel bag, with the large slippery soft and super stretchy UPF50+ Lycra material (lots of it!) inside, as well as the 4 aluminum poles for setting it up. And instructions thankfully! The material is similar to that used for those sensory/yoga swings if you’re familiar with them. The poles each have these balls on the end to support the material without damaging it. It comes with plastic sand stakes and even a little plastic shovel to help plant them in the ground. The colour doesn’t look as turquoise as the description but maybe once it’s up in the sun it will look closer to it.I’m guessing this is going to be a more than one person operation. Especially the first time. It’s going to be a functional and stylish beach accessory to add to my rolling wagon this summer.Costs 170$. Given how much material you get + the specialized poles it’s pretty justified, tho it’s still quite an investment for a temporary beach tent. You can easily find other models on Amazon for less (~140-100$) but also more expensive ones.Update August 17We finally tried it! It’s a minimum two person job to get it up, it would have been a struggle alone. I needed help getting the stakes stuck into the sand to hold well enough. We found that angling them in a bit helps. It withstood some decent winds and didn’t falter! Offers a goodly amount of shade for a family. Also sets your space apart on the beach. Definitely a fancier option than the multitudes of parasols! Awesome! You need quite a bit of sand in the corners to hold it down but they take a lot! Easily portable when done. Our family recommends it!
