Great Size and Sun Protection, Setup Needs Practice
This extra-large beach tent definitely delivers on space! We used it for a family beach day with 6 adults and 2 kids, and there was ample room for everyone’s chairs, bags, and a cooler, with space left over for the kids to play in the shade. The 150+ sq ft coverage claim feels accurate, and it provided a fantastic escape from the sun.Pros:Huge Coverage: Easily fits a large group, making it perfect for families or gatherings.UPF 50+ Protection: The sun protection was excellent. You could feel the difference in temperature inside the shelter, and we felt confident letting the kids play under it without worrying about sunburn.Gull-Wing Design: This design is quite clever. It allows for good airflow, preventing it from getting too stuffy inside, which can be an issue with other enclosed tents. It also offers multiple setup configurations depending on the wind and sun direction.Visibility: The open nature of the gull-wing design means you still have great views of the beach and ocean.Cons:Setup: While advertised as “Easy Setup,” it took us a good 15-20 minutes the first time, mostly figuring out how to properly anchor it in the sand, especially with a slight breeze. It definitely requires two people and some practice to get efficient. Filling the sandbags takes time and effort.Wind Performance: On a moderately windy day, it held up okay once properly anchored, but the large surface area does catch the wind. I’d be hesitant to use it in very strong winds without significant anchoring effort.Bulk: Given its size, it’s understandably a bit bulky and heavy to carry, even in its bag.Overall:This is a fantastic option if you need serious shade coverage for a larger group at the beach. The space and sun protection are top-notch, and the airflow is good. Just be prepared to spend a little time learning the optimal setup, especially for anchoring it securely, and factor in the carrying weight. For big beach gatherings, it’s a great asset.

Not Great for Windy Beaches
The tent is easy to set up with at least two people, but it simply doesn’t hold up in windy conditions. We followed the instructions, but as soon as the wind shifted, the whole thing collapsed. It’s oversized like a parachute but offers very little shade. Other beachgoers had smaller, sturdier tents that worked much better. Unfortunately, ours was unusable due to the wind.

Works great on windy days
Got this tent prior to our Florida beach vacation and after living with it for 5 days I would say it was money well spent. For starters it is easy to set up. Spread it out and fill up each leg sand bag. Then install the tent poles. If it is very windy, I found the tent does much better if you only place a pole on ONE SIDE. You must have the openings of the tent oriented in the direction of the wind and place the one pole in the front. The tent will then act like a wind sock and with the one pole it will perform flawlessly in gusty winds. Would buy again

A Great Quality & Visually Appealing Large Beach Shade
Finding a large canopy/beach shade that offers decent quality and is also easy to setup/takedown is not always easy to find, but this INSTANTENT beach shade delivers. If you are interested in this product, make sure you watch the product videos, as they do a fantastic job of showing how to properly set up this beach shade, while also showcasing its unique design and functionality.For starters, the quality of this beach shade is certainly worth the asking price. The entire package from the beach shade, poles, to the carry case and pole/stake bags are built to last. The quality doesn’t just get the job done, it goes an extra step to ensure what you receive is well built, but also easy to set up and takedown.For such a large beach shade, not being able to easily set this up and it remain standing on a windy beach would be a showstopper. For full disclosure, I’ve not been able to test this on a beach yet, due to tearing the meniscus in my knee not long after receiving this product. I’ve healed enough from surgery to test the setup/takedown on a blustery day in our backyard with my eight-year-old son assisting. It was still a quick, easy installation that only took around ten minutes. Installing this on a beach with the weight of the sand holding down the feet would undoubtedly make this a much more straightforward setup that I would have no issue accomplishing by myself. Even when using nothing but the included stakes into grass in our backyard though, the tent was able to withstand winds of around 10 mph with stronger gust with no problem.Once the beach shade is set up, it looks fantastic – I truly find this to be a visually appealing beach shade. It also doesn’t have any large obstructions to your view (or others) in any direction – even the mesh legs of the tent can be seen through. This is a great feature considering the large size of the shade. I tip my hat to the clever design that it uses to be able to provide this feature alongside the amount of stability that is required for it to sustain wind too.The visual appeal of the design does have a single flaw that I’ve found so far. It is designed so that the poles face the wind, but if the wind is blowing the same direction that faces the sun, the amount of available shade is significantly limited due to the high open sides. You are going to want to turn the sides of the shade to face the sun when using it. The shade is held up by tension, so the only time doing this might be an issue is when dealing with stronger winds. This is by no means a showstopper for me though, and this shade will be accompanying our family to any beach trip in our foreseeable future.

Not suitable for even a mild breeze
I don’t understand the 4 and 5 star reviews. We bought this for our vacay in DE, and even with mild breezes (extreme wind I could understand) it simply will not stay up. The instructions included are lacking. We utilized the rope and stakes provided (but not really detailed in the drawing, shown on the photo on website) Yes, very lightweight, but absolutely a waste of time. This will be returned.

3 minute take down
Got this te t for the beach. First time setting up only tool and few minute but I’m sure next time it will be faster. Take down tool no more than 3 minutes. Easy to pack up and compact.

Doesn’t stand up in the wind
The poles are too long for the size of tent it has no stability as it doesn’t stick in the ground and the breeze blows it over. Otherwise the concept was good.

I really really like this cool giant shade cover.The kids already love it too, as before I was finishing setting it up they couldn’t wait to get their little chairs, blankets and towels under it.The overall setup is extremely easy. As easy as propping up a tent.The tent material is excellent as it does a good job blocking out the sun. We also tested the tent fabric by spraying water over top of it. The water beaded and dipped off easily without soaking in.When totally set up this entire cover takes up a lot of space because it spans 7 meters wide.With its wide open concept, there was no risk of it blowing over during some approx 20+ km wind gusts. Plus the 4 spanned out wings are of a mesh material so wind just flows right through.One advice I would like to share is that this shade canopy is basically an elevated two sided tent.It’s best to be mindful of which direction the sun is and set up your ground plot where one of the sloping sides of the canopy is facing the sun for maximum shade.After I set mine up, I realized the canopy opening (best walk through) was facing the sun and the shade was not as plentiful so I have to take it down and set it up again.After doing that it was perfectOn a side note, this would also work for camping, though would need to have a large cleared area.The peak top of the canopy is tall enough where a picnic table would fit right under it.

You absolutely HAVE to get this Beach Tent Canopy! It’s a massive size, provides excellent sun defense (UPF 50+), and the gull-wing style is really eye-catching. It’s simple to install for the beach or your yard, very strong, and built to last. I highly recommend it!

I tried using this, but it’s just so bad in so many ways. It was priced at $145, which plays a huge role in my rating.You have to “fill the sand bags”, but there are no sand bags included. Only pockets. It makes some sense — you’ll supposedly be on a beach with plenty of sand you don’t plan to carry around with you. It’ll make them a bit dirty, but fine. I used 4 sand bags I had laying around and shoved those in the pockets so I could test in the back yard.The poles did not fit together. I had to take out an angle grinder and shave off a fairly significant portion of one of the pole pieces (one of the four pieces that fit in the Y connector) because the button piece was nowhere near the hole.After repairing the manufacturing defects, I put the Y connectors into the eye holes and stood it up. Even when standing straight up, it was pretty low (not something you’ll want to walk into and out of). Standing straight up, it was also impossible to balance it with the sand bags (which is what you’re supposed to do).Even with strings and pegs it didn’t stay up in the wind.The only way I could get this to stay up is by pointing the two poles inwards til they touched tips, which made this super low.In short, manufacturing errors, annoying to set up, doesn’t stay up well, and insanely high price.One of the worst value products I’ve come across after over 4,000 reviews.

This thing was pretty easy to set up, but do beware that it will not stay up in strong winds. Over on the Northumberland Streit in Nova Scotia, we get a lot of gusts. It held up quite well in mile to medium wind, but when it got really gusty, it did come down. If you’re in a slightly calmer area, it’s gonna work great. It was not difficult to put up. Even if you lose the instructions, it’s very intuitive. We did have to use rocks as extra support because of the wind
