Let’s be honest: I didn’t buy the EverPlus Childproof Door Reinforcement Lock for burglars. I bought it to stop my 3-year-old from busting out of the house like a tiny, pantsless escape artist on a juice box high.And guess what? It works pretty well — by which I mean I now enjoy the calming sound of frustrated toddler grunts as they try to MacGyver the door open with a plastic spoon.This thing installs easily (translation: I only said 3 swear words), and once it’s in, it’s not going anywhere. It’s sturdy, solid, and clearly designed by someone who has personally experienced a small child trying to join the neighborhood dog walk unsupervised.Pros:Reinforces your door like you’re preparing for a toddler-led siege.Easy to use for adults, meaning anyone over 4′ tall with basic motor skills.Adds an extra layer of security, or at least, an extra 30 seconds of panic time during a break-in.Cons:Doesn’t stop the child from screaming “OPEN THE DOOR!” like you’ve locked them in an emotional prison.Not strong enough to keep out your in-laws, unfortunately.I now have to unlock two locks every time I get takeout. Inconvenient, but worth it for child containment.It’s also become my go-to way of saying “We are done going outside today.” The door’s locked, reinforced, and child-proofed. The tiny inmate is still inside. A Small Lock That Gives Big Peace of Mind
I really like this EverPlus security door lock! It feels super strong and well-made — you can tell it’s built to last. Installation was quick and simple, and the eight screws make it feel extra secure. I love that it opens just enough to see who’s outside without actually unlocking the door. It’s also great if you have kids, since it keeps them safe from accidentally opening the door. Overall, I feel much safer at home with this lock. Totally worth it!

Good for the price
A basic addition that helps secure your door, for a decent price. It’s small, easy to install, and pretty effective to stop the door from opening if kicked (depending on factors such as length of screws in the door hinges, and the door’s frame). This comes with 2 sizes of screws, so they should be sufficient to hold this door lock in place with no problem. The instructions don’t tell you HOW to rotate the locking mechanism though, so here it is: Once in place (test it off the door frame first of course), pull the locking bar to the side, then twist it back toward you. You do the reverse to close the lock in place. This prevents it from accidentally locking YOU out. This is a good option to keep small children from opening inside doors too, because it does take a bit of force to pull the mechanism. And of course, it should be placed out of reach for them as well. It’s worth it for the cost, but for a more secure option for home security (to reduce the chances of home invasion even more by kicking in a front door), I purchased the Door Bull. It does cost more, but highly unlikely anyone’s foot is going to get through. This unit is a decent choice for the price, and can add more peace of mind. They may even be able to pick a lock, but this can’t be picked.

Fast, Easy, and Secure
Had a inner door to our bulkhead that was constantly losing a full latch as it expanded and contracted. We used to lean something against it to keep it closed, but this device was a super easy fix. Used 4 of the long screws after drilling in 1/8″ pilot holes, and we were installed in less than 5minutes. Door is closed solid now!
