Easy to use security door lock
Debated on which type of travel security lock to buy, but finally ended up with this item. I couldn’t have been more satisfied! It’s a nice weight and size, and I liked the included drawstring bag which made it easy to pack in my luggage. It is reasonably priced, and worked great for 4 overnight stays (with both carpet and hard floors), including one motel door. Although I didn’t actually test the unit by having someone push the outside of the door, I wasn’t able to open any of them once it was screwed down tightly to the floor.This lock seems to be well made, and I would anticipate it will be useful for many trips in the future.

Works!! Easy to use and easy transport. It puts pressure on bottom of door. In a normal door it works great. We used it on an old antic door at a rental and it worked but if the door could be pushed at top a little. I think that is more of an antic door and very old door frame. We felt very safe during all of our travels at multiple locations with this door jam. Most rentals don’t have an extra lock. This is the solution. Stores easily.

Doesn’t work with all doors….
I love the idea of this & the fact that it’s small, lightweight, comes in a sturdy bag to store or travel with but it just didn’t work under my front door of my house. I tried to put it under the corner of the door close to the wall & couldn’t get it under the door so I moved it towards the middle. Once I got it under my door & easily started to tighten it I could feel the grip getting strong. I started to pull on the part that locks the device to the ground & was like “WOW! This has a strong grip & seems to work well” & then it slipped out from under my front door…..sigh!This is a great product & made sturdy but I have to say it’s not for all doors. It probably works better with doors that their bottom doesn’t completely touch the ground or have a rubber flap on the bottom as it makes it hard to get the flat piece under the door. Since this doesn’t work for the door I bought it for I have to return it. Boo.

This simple device might just save your life!
This little device is fantastic. It is super easy to use. You literally don’t even need instructions to know how to use it. You just place it under your door and tighten the screw. That’s it. Presto! You’re more secure. I use it on my bedroom door so I can leave my downstairs windows open during the summer. I don’t have air conditioning so I have no choice but to leave them open for air flow. I go to bed and rest easy knowing that it’s going to make it impossible for someone to get in without breaking the door down. Trust me, I tried to get in with it on and I would have had to break the door and make a lot of noise to make that happen. It’s going to give me the time I need to wake up and grab my protection. It is heavy duty and once it’s locked into place it’s not going anywhere but it’s also surprisingly light. You could easily put it in your suitcase and take it with you when you travel. It’s not going to cause extra weight and it won’t take up much room. I was worried that it would be a hassle to set up and take off but it’s so easy. It takes just a few seconds. The price point is also great. The only downside is that it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing to look at. But honestly, who cares? That’s not what it’s there for. I am super happy with this find. It’s so much better than the little alarms that go under the door. They aren’t going to stop someone from coming through and once the alarm is triggered it’s already too late. This most certainly will stop them and alert you to a problem so you have time to react. I do want to give full disclosure here; I only have hardwood floors in my home. I have no idea if it would be just as effective on carpet. Looking at it and seeing how much you can tighten it down, I believe it would work just fine. But I have not tried it. I give this 5 stars for accomplishing exactly what I needed it to.

Doesn’t keep unwanted visitors out
I bought this door stopper with the intention of using it during lockdowns at work (I’m a teacher). I was trying it out on my classroom door when one of my students asked to test it out. I let him because I was also curious. Well, not only was he able to force his way into the classroom, he also succeeded in bending the screw. If you are looking to buy this product for safety purposes, I would recommend looking elsewhere

Worth it and works great!
I use this every time we travel. I have used it in Airbnb’s, hotels, etc. Some doors don’t have that slit at the bottom if they are really close to the floor, but most have worked great. I feel so much better sleeping somewhere new with this. Easy to put on too, so really no reason a solo traveler can’t use one every time they travel.My kids can do it!
