Easy to program the combos on these two TSA-approved luggage locks. Good security. Strong.
Easy to program the combos on these two TSA-approved luggage locks. They seem strong enough to offer some security to my precious items while traveling.

Works well, but may not be super strong
I got this for a locker at work, and while it does work, I’m a little skeptical about it’s design. I just needed something that tells people not to go in, and has a combo, so for that, it works perfectly fine for me. If you were getting one to make sure something is locked, I wouldn’t look at this one without some more testing. This looks like it could open just by tugging on it (Though I haven’t actually tried that)

    Good for traveling
Somehow I always manage to lose my locks and keys between my trips (but never on my trips? lol), so I always end up repurchasing some. I like that these are combination locks, so I don’t have to worry about carrying around or losing a key on my trip. Obviously, the lock itself isn’t strong enough against bolt cutters, but it does at least give you a small sense of security that the zipper of your check-in bag didn’t snag on the luggage conveyor belt and spill all your belongings everywhere. At about $6.50 each lock, this is a decent deal.

Double-sided and confusing; too oily yet stiff to use
I have been in need of TSA-approved locks for a while, and unfortunately, these do not necessarily do the trick. Let’s start with the elephant in the room: their design. When you are traveling, time is often of the essence, and these locks have one major issue: they are two-sided, meaning that when you enter your correct code on one side, the opposite number appears on the other. So if your code is 123, for example, on the other side of the lock you would see 678. And unless you look VERY closely for a dashed line between the number dials, each side is nearly identical, meaning you will often enter the code on the wrong side and be left wondering why the lock is not opening.Aside from that, let’s talk about the dials and locking mechanism. The dials are COVERED in lubricant/oil, leaving a sticky coating on your hand, and they are too stiff to turn smoothly. As for the locking hook itself, it almost grinds when you turn it, making using this lock far more effort than it’s worth.

The front and back look almost identical. You may get the combo wrong half the time!
It’s very difficult to tell the front from back! This is the only major defect in this design. See the pictures labeled front and back. These are higher quality then many TSA approved locks I have reviewed. No TSA marked lock should be considered completely secure because they’re master keyed for easy access by TSA employees and those keys are available to the general public. These have large clasps compared to other luggage locks. The combination is very easy to change. See the video for that. These locks are what I would consider low to middle tier quality for luggage locks. If they were better marked they would still get a good rating when compared to other luggage locks in this price category. I needed no instruction to change the combination because they use a standard method used by many similar locks. The size is right to fit most luggage without being too large.Compared to other TSA locks in this categorySecurity: 4 out of 5Ease of use: 2 out of 5Value: 4 out of 5Quality: 4 out of 5Size: 4 out of 5

Sturdy and Reliable, with a Slight Learning Curve
These luggage locks are solid that can work great for travel, lockers, or storage. These are slightly larger than other TSA locks are I am used to. The build quality feels reliable, and they’re easy to snap onto zippers, bags, or cases. Definitely a good choice for keeping your belongings secure on the go.One thing to be aware of: changing the default combination code takes a little finesse, and the instructions could be clearer. Another part that can be confusing is having code displayed on both sides. Both faces are identical so pay attention to direction of letters at the bottom of the lock. Not a flaw, just something to keep in mind when setting them up.Overall, these locks seem dependable option once you get past the brief learning curve. Just take a moment to read the instructions carefully and label which code goes with which lock if you’re using more than one!

    Not just for luggage!
Versatile locks. I’ve found multiple uses for them so far, not just for luggage. Suitcases/ travel bags that have zippers that can be locked together are just the beginning. I’ve secured my bicycle helmet and two saddlebags to my bike’s rear cargo rack. The shackle fits around the top handle and zipper pulls of my travel backpack, which is great while walking in crowds. I’m going to try these out with the cable for vehicle cover that runs under car. I’m keeping one lock at home and one in the house for any uses that will come up although for this price I can buy another set. Instructions are included as to how set your own combination, it comes preset to 000. Enter your combo and press top button on lock to open.

    Sturdy Luggage lock
The good: Locks with easy to read (not 1 font) user guide, YES! It feels like it is a sturdy lock and easy to change the combination. The bad: Which side did I set the combination? At least you have a 50/50 chance of opening your lock. :)I have needed a replacement luggage locks for some time and these locks are TSA approved. They are larger that what I use to use and feel secure when locked. Keep in mind, if someone really wants to get into your luggage, they will no matter what locks you use.
