A parasol for the modern human
I can’t believe it took me this long in life to realize how great an umbrella for the sun is. I’ve always had beach umbrellas, but never, for whatever reason thought that a handheld umbrella for the sun would be so useful. Especially grateful for when it’s too hot to wear a wide brim hat, but you still need the protection. Folds up nice so we can keep it in the car for those unexpected moments. The mechanism is smooth and works well.

I’d buy this again!
Exactly as described. Opens and closes easily with the touch of a button. Pretty and so practical with good coverage, yet a smaller size for travel. Great value for the price.

Broke 60 days in after only a few uses
This umbrella broke 60 days after I got it. The mechanism completely came apart that holds it open. Not a good product at all.

Beautiful but…
Beautiful sturdy umbrella, but the fishy odor smell is too strong. I left it out in the backyard but the smell doesn’t go away.

Very short handle – difficult to hold for long periods of time.
The pros:-Thick Fabric. The fabric on this thing is very thick and does not let any light through. It seems sturdy and should hold up a while. I ordered the beige color and love it.-Easy to Open. The click button is great and makes it very easy to open.- Nice travel bag.The Cons:-Not as easy to close. At first it closed easily, but there was also a kind of grease/lube on it from the factory the was getting on my clothes. Once I wiped off all the grease, it was stiffer to close. I can do it fine, but I’m pretty sure my elder mother would have trouble.-No air vents for windy days.- Too short. This is the biggest con and the reason why I deducted one star. The handle is crazy short. All the pictures on the product page that have a person holding the umbrella look photoshopped because no one can use this umbrella with their elbow at a 90 degree angle. I am 5’7″ and usually I hold umbrellas with my arm bent at 90 or slightly less. This handle is so short my thumb is up by my armpit in order to keep the umbrella off my head. It feels like I am actively using my bicep to keep this thing off my head, making it impractical for long walks. Most umbrella handles are long enough that you can rest the handle on your shoulder but this is so short that it doesn’t really cover your head if the handle is back on your shoulder. My super-compact rain umbrella that I normally use is 21.5″ from base of handle to the spring mechanism. This is 19.25″, over 2 inches shorter. I’m surprised this isn’t a more common theme in the reviews.

Best umbrella I’ve ever had. Quality is great and the price was good too. I recommend it!

This Lilac travel umbrella is a good quality travel umbrella that provides good UV protection from the sun and waterproof protection from the rain when needed. I ordered the gray outer color and it looks as shown in the listing with a gray outer shell and black interior. There are 9 different colors to choose from so you can get the color that is best for you.The folded umbrella is just over 12″ long making it convenient to carry in a bag or luggage when traveling. It opens up to just over 38″ in diameter which is a great size for a travel umbrella. The fabric feels thicker and more durable than some other bargain travel umbrellas I have used. I feel this umbrella will last much longer than those other ones. I have used it for 2 walks of about 20 minutes in the rain and there were no leaks.Opening the umbrella is so easy. You just press the button on the handle and it opens fully. Another press of the button collapses the canopy and you then use your hands to compress the handle. There is an attached Velcro strap that wraps around the umbrella to hold it closed. There is also a handy carry pouch that slides over the closed umbrella and the carry pouch has a plastic carabiner so it can be attached to a bag or backpack. Note that I have included photos showing the closed umbrella with the Velcro strap around it and with the carry pouch over it. These are after I used the umbrella as I wanted to show that it is easy to get the carry pouch over it after using it. When the package first arrives, it is more neatly packaged in the pouch, but you can still get it over after you use the umbrella. The length of the fully open handle is about 23.5″. I find this is a pretty standard size for a travel umbrella. However, it is somewhat shorter than the pictures in the listing make it appear. Your arm will be bent more than 90 degrees to keep the umbrella off of your head. Not a big deal for a compact travel umbrella, but I did want to point out that the pictures are a bit misleading.Overall this is a very good quality, compact umbrella that opens up to a good size for a travel umbrella. The fact that you can also order different colors than a basic black travel umbrella can make it a bit more fun. I give it 5 stars.

This compact umbrella is a perfect travel companion—lightweight yet durable, with refined craftsmanship and a smooth auto open/close feature. The 42″ canopy offers great coverage, and the color coating adds a nice touch. Most importantly, the UPF 50+ protection really helps on sunny days. A bit pricier than basic umbrellas, but worth it for the quality and features.
My Take –
This umbrella is so pretty. The lavender purple color really stands out and gives it a fresh, elegant look. It also has UV protection, which is a big plus for me. The coating on the shade feels different from most umbrellas, and you can tell it offers an added layer of sun protection. The size is standard and it does not feel heavier or lighter than a regular umbrella. What really makes it stand out is the one-touch open and close button. You press the button once to open it and again to close it, which is super convenient. I especially appreciate that feature when I am using it for sun rather than rain because it is easier to manage with just one hand.It also comes with a matching case that snaps closed and holds the umbrella securely. The packaging was very neat and nicely presented, which makes it a good option for gift-giving too. Overall, this is a great umbrella that looks beautiful and functions really well.

I will be using this umbrella more for the wet weather than the sun. However, that part is more of a bonus. (However, I do find it odd with someone walking on a street with an umbrella open while there is not a drop in the sky.)It is about a foot in length. It comes with a cover that cover the umbrella except the handle. A Velcro strap to keep it folded. A bit of a tight fit to get the folded umbrella into the cover. As my area hasn’t had really any rain since I got the umbrella and nothing really for the upcoming week, the best test will be in the fall (a couple of months away).
