UPDATED: When it can be turned on, it seems to work great!
Everything seems to work great, though I can’t measure its effectiveness at killing germs and bacteria. The most difficult thing though, is to get it to even go into the two cleaning modes. The button does not work as indicated in the instructions, and it’s difficult to get it into the “blue” shorter mode or the “orange” longer mode. I have to keep pressing the button until it decides to engage in one of the two modes. When engaged, I really like the versatility to use the lid without the box across sheets or pillow cases, etc. Great concept, I just wish the button were functioning as it says it should. UPDATE: one day in April 2024, I didn’t have my USB charging block with me and noticed that the power strip nearest me had a USB port for charging. I discovered that the cleaning cycles go on just as described when a charging block is not used. I have increased my star rating to 5 stars now.

Good for sanitizing
I love using this for my phone, keys and in my photography studio. It gives me the peace of mind that germs are gone and items are safe for the next newborn I shoot. It’s easy to use, just plug it in, put stuff in and turn it on. I do wish it worked without being plugged in.

Peel it off! – Large enough for most modern phones
It’s large enough for most modern phones even with a case.The light array seems well spaced out.The phone charger may be a bit of a gimmick,. it didn’t work on my phones with a case on. Though that’s not really surprising as you usually need a more powerful charger when cases are used.The biggest “issue” is that the reflective surfaces come with a protective film on them, this is great, except there is no mention of it anywhere. It should have stickers telling you to remove them before use and it would be great if it had a tab or something you could pull. It’s pretty difficult to remove.

This is perfect for disinfection of cell phones during coronavirus period.I used to spray my phone with isopropyl alcohol every time I come home from outside (so it kills coronavirus). It’s a pain because isopropyl alcohol gets the inside of my cell phone case wet so I have to take my phone case off every time.Now this product saved my lots of time because all I have to do is putting my phone inside and it does its work automatically (instead of using isopropyl alcohol). It only takes 3 minutes for disinfection and no need to take my phone case off again.Love it! And it’s wrapped well in a box.

Questionable at best.
My daughter wanted a UV-C sterilizing unit for home use. She selected this unit. I have worked with UV-A, UV-B and UV-C light wavelengths for over 35 years. I reviewed the descriptions for 12 to 15 advertised UV-C home use units. No where did I read anything about the quality of the light sources being used in these units. I had bought this particular unit and tested the light sources UV-C parameters using a sensor traceable to the NIST stardard (only standard accepted worldwide) that is specified at +/- 3%. Result are light output of .05 mw/cm2 at one end of the unit and .12 mw/cm2 at the other end of the unit measured length. This told me it was possible for one end to sterilize but not necessarily the other end using the same time period. Also, the time it would take to sterilize would be hours not minutes, if at all. I believe the 12 to 15 units I review by their descriptions their efficacy is highly questionable and would not trust them let alone buy one. The quality and uniformity of the light source of these units are the key factors, not just because they have UV-C light output.

This is the second one. The first one I had to send back.
The first one wasn’t working right. It wouldn’t do the shorter cycle it would only do the longer cycle. So I sent it back and decided to take a chance on ordering it again. This is perfect for what I want it for, which is sterilizing the inside of injection pen cartridges. It has the right range of UVC light and that UVC light does go through to the center of the cartridge where your liquid would go. So I’m happy.

A Step in the Right Direction
The weight and appearance of the box is reassuring; it looks like quality work. For me to give this a five star review, however, it would need to be bigge, have an option to extend the exposure period, and have a louder done notification (oran option to increase the volume of the noise it makes when the cycle was complete).I had to move the box to my desk so that I can repeatedly push the buttom until I’ve gone through sufficient cycles. Another reviewer noted that it took three cycles on each side to complete sterilization. I am trusting the reviewer’s research to be accurate as I don’t have any other research to support product claims.I need a larger version of this product available at an affordable price to more easily sterilize masks. I could wash my masks daily but they would wear out more quickly and they would be out of commission during the wash and dry period. UV lights are significantly easier if they work. It is easy to sterilize our phones and keys but not so easy with masks. The photo shows that my mask is a tight fit in the compartment and I take it out and rearrange it for each of the six cycles I use to sterilize it.

This product does not produce uvc with with 250 to 270 nm wavelength which kills virus…only normal uv light of moderate strength equivalent to normal sunlight…nutshell waste of money..advise you to buy photochromic colorimetric card before to test uvc strength of any such product…i bought it late so money is wasted
