AWESOME/ Easy For Breastfeeding in Public!
I love this carrier for the following reasons:1) AWESOME for breastfeeding in public – and this is coming from a first-time mom with a 9wk old. Breastfeeding is HARD – and this makes it easier. That alone makes it worth the investment. I wear this out like an infinity scarf, and when kiddo gets hungry, I slip the loops on (just follow instructions in package) and pop her in. The K’tan supports her weight so my arms don’t get tired and my back doesn’t hurt… and I can have a free hand if needed – and can even nurse standing up/ walking around!!! I wore it the other day while feeding in public at a sandwich shop and at least 3 guys walked by me and were clearly oblivious to the fact I was nursing. Worn with my favorite nursing top by a company called LaClef (https://www.amazon.com/LaClef-Doubled-Maternity-Breastfeeding-Charcoal/dp/B01IYMU2M6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1478883341&sr=8-4&keywords=laclef), you can do stealthy feeding anywhere. I bought a 2nd k’tan in a different color for this exact purpose.2) It’s far easier to put on than a Moby, but with essentially the same functionality. To be clear, Moby is also great for babywearing – and Moby has the added bonus of being adjustable which K’Tan is not – but it’s not realistic to put on a Moby when you’re away from home/ anywhere with a dirty floor, while the K’tan is truly a “go-anywhere” product. Now, there are some “cons”. First, sizing is tough. The size calculator had me in a size Med. I’m 5’7″ and weigh 165 right now (~155 pre-baby), with 36DDD (36C pre-baby). I put on the medium and it felt huge, especially when my daughter was only 5 wks (~8lbs) – so I exchanged it for a small, which felt much better. Fast forward 4 weeks, she’s now 10lbs and the size small feels REALLY tight now, like it might be squeezing her uncomfortably when I baby-wear. BUT the small is fine for nursing (maybe even better than a Med), so I use it for that, and in a pinch for babywearing – but I did go back to buy a second wrap in size medium (again). I used the excuse that I wanted a different color. 🙂 Lots of reviewers talked about the material stretching out, but I haven’t noticed that at all with my size small. I guess the moral of the story is to follow the sizing calculator on the Baby K’Tan website – or plan to buy 2 (size a small down for newbs <10lbs, then use the recommended size for over 10lbs). 🙂 But overall, the fact that there isn't a way to adjust it - that's a bummer.Second "con" is that there are Tags. All. Over. There's a GIANT white satin tag with "WARNING: SUFFOCATION HAZARD" in bright red ink and "how to use" instrutions/ pictures in blue and red ink tag sewn into one of the loops. Plus a Baby K'Tan tag on the other loop. PLUS a Baby K'Tan tag on the piece of material in the back that holds the 2 loops together, as well another larger white satin tag that's sewn in with washing instructions, and a 3rd "hanging" tag that has washing instructions in other languages. AND another Baby K'Tan tag on the "seatbelt" wrap. JEEZ! Like I said, I wear the carrier as an infinity scarf (one less thing to stuff into my diaper bag, plus I never have to worry about not having it if I'm already wearing it)... but I've had several occasions where I look down at my "chic infinity scarf" and see "WARNING: SUFFOCATION HAZARD" in bright red lettering on a white satin tag instead. Not so stealthy. Yes, I could probably grab a seam-ripper and spend an hour carefully cutting the tags (mostly) out. In all my free time. As a working-full-time-mom-of-a-9-wk-old. Riiiight. Minor complaint, but a complaint none-the-less.Overall, if you're considering baby-wearing and/ or need a confidence booster/ tool for nursing in public, buy this wrap. I bought both of mine as "open box" deals on amazon and saved a couple bucks. One had been previously opened/ tried on but still had all the tags. The second was completely brand new/ never opened, but the outer cardboard box was totally squished. Just wash before you wear (I'd do that regardless) and it's fine.Good luck, mamas! Happy baby-wearing and nursing!!!

I was very pleased with this carrier – so much so that although it didn’t fit, I bought a medium and kept this one for my mother to use with the twins. Fit – I am 5’1″, ~135 lbs (closer to 150 when I tried this on a few weeks after getting home from the hospital), and a medium fits perfectly. My mom is 5′, ~115 lbs and the small was comfortable for her. One of my twins absolutely LOVED this carrier (the other liked it, too, but not to the same degree). She loves being carried in general, and was so fussy the first few months whenever she wasn’t being held that having this carrier was a life saver! I have this as well as a Moby, and although I did like that the Moby had more options for wrapping methods and can give a more customized fit, I love the ease of use of the K’tan. It is literally less than a minute to wrap them, which is wonderful – the last thing I want is to be messing around with the tails on a huge piece of fabric trying to remember if this piece goes under or over while they’re gearing up to full melt-down. Plus it’s very compact and easy to throw in the car or my purse or diaper bag in case I need it wherever we’re going, and I can even just throw it on like a scarf just in case (not the most fashion-forward piece, but for convenience you really can’t beat it). The color of this carrier is really lovely, too, and the fabric is very soft and cuddly. The first few months, my LO fell asleep almost immediately every single time I carried her.K’tan vs. Moby: the only time I would recommend buying a Moby over a K’tan is if two people of very different sizes each want to wear the baby, and both are willing to learn how to wrap (that is a biggie – my hubby was willing to wear, but didn’t want to learn the Moby). Otherwise I would choose the K’tan, every time. Some comments:If you’re going to carry for more than an hour, or carry a few times per day, you may have a sore back afterwards. This is fairly comfortable, but does not offer as much back support as a soft structured carrier (SCC) would, as all of the weight is still on your upper body. I used this carrier almost exclusively for the first few months and would again if we had more babies, but now that my babies are bigger (>15 lbs) I prefer to use an SCC if I am going to carry them around for a bit. However, with that said, I still use this carrier when my clingy baby is super fussy and tired, and it still works like a charm. Love, love, Love my K’tan! Finally, if you’re debating different carriers, I highly recommend going to a Babywearing International (BWI) meeting ([…]). There are chapters in most major cities, and they will let you bring your baby and try on different carriers from their lending libraries for free, so you can figure out what carriers work best for you and your baby before buying. Plus, if you pay $30 a year for a membership, you can rent a carrier each month, which is a great way to try before you buy.

When in doubt, go for a smaller size
Right now I am giving it 4-stars, because although I really liked the simplicity of the wrap, I am actually still pregnant and am not sure how much my newborn will love it (or not). My first son was colicky and he did really well in my previous wrap (the Moby), but for this child I was really looking for something simpler to use. I never got to the point of being able to quickly put on the Moby, although once it was on, it was fine. I decided on the K’tan based on Amazon reviews and Pinterest feedback. The primary reason I am writing this review is to comment on the sizing. I am 5’4″ around 140 pre-pregnancy and will likely be 160-170 post-pregnancy. I really struggled between the Medium and the Large and finally ended up ordering a Large. However, I quickly realized that even while 8 1/2 months pregnant the Large was too big. I returned it and got the Medium and was able to practice putting it on and putting in a doll, even though my stomach is quite large. My recommendation would be to go with a smaller size when in doubt. I’ve also heard that fabric will eventually stretch a bit.I think I will like the K’Tan itself. It’s not as compact as I was hoping it would be. It can still be easily thrown in a diaper bag, but it’ll take up more room than I originally thought it would. The wrap comes in a bag and the bag folds out and doubles as a sash that can be used for extra support. As for ease of use, it was way easier to put on than the Moby. Much simpler process overall and took much less time, especially with the newborn hold, which does not require the extra support of the sash.

Not as easy to wrap at first, then you get the hang of it, my baby doesnt always like it.

Not sure why the review asks to rate stretch but it’s not supposed to be very stretchy for safety reasons. My baby is 6 weeks now, and he’s a very “sticky” baby that I had to carry him a lot in a day. My left wrist got injured because of this. My OB doctor recommended this product to me in one of my postpartum follow up appointment. It’s a life saver! It’s extremely easy to use, just follow the user manual in package. So much easier than the wrap ( I don’t think I can ever learn how to use the wrap)It’s cotton, breathable, soft and comfy. Now my hands are free, I can do more chores during the day while keeping him on my chest. Strongly recommended!

Best baby carrier! Easy to use. Goes in regular laundry. This is my all time best purchase. We tried Moby but couldn’t get it to hold tight enough to feel confident. We have a beco also which is good. This holds baby more snugly. Have gone on Rocky hikes and felt comfortable baby wouldn’t move. Great for airport travel. Can have baby in facing in or out. Folds up small and comes with carrying bag. Highly recommend.

This is a must have product, so easy to use and put on when out and about, no fabric on the floor getting dirty and having to wear it all day when out in case your little one wants to go in (like other wrap carriers). The two loop system makes it a doddle to put on when at the shops or out on a walk! This is worth ever penny and I honestly cant recommend the Baby K’tan enough, especially in those first few months when newborns like to be close to you, this gives you so much freedom. Also great for breastfeeding and keeping your hands free to write product reviews haha
