I had to look at the you tube video to see how to open it. Simple once you know.Instructions say press down inside of slide.

Locks are solid and quite thin so easy to put in a bag. We used them on luggage only in hotels when we were out for the day.

Too big
I wanted to use this to lock a case closed, and I carefully measured the hole. While the cable would probably fit, the end cap is far larger and won’t fit through the security hole on the case. Should work for standard luggage locking, but know that the diameter of the end cap is much larger than the cable measurement.
