Tested them all out first and they all worked! Reassuring to have around in purse, car, belt pack, keys, anywhere. Pretty darned loud! The light is handy, too.

Update: Will be retiring in next couple of months before winter starts getting dark so I'll be able to pick up my granddaughter from school. I purchased another pack of these mighty alarms, no pun intended, to give to some of my coworkers as they will still need to walk to their cars as it's starting to get dark after work in early winter. They make great gifts and could potentially save your life or that of someone you love. Especially now with all the crime getting worse the loudness of these will surely get people's attention and they appear to be very durable and takes batteries. Flashlight comes in handy too.
Love this. I like that it has a loud alarm. Bought this for my 13 yrs old granddaughter daughter. Who sometimes has to walk to the bus stop by herself when I or her mother can't pick her up. Also for older granddaughter 25, and younger daughter 33, who work night shifts at the hospital and have to walk to and from their cars in the dark. And for my older grandson 24, and my oldest daughter 45 who travels alot. Hopefully they will never have to use it. The flashlight is an extra nice feature. You can use it as SOS too, if needed, by blinking it 3 times. Plus it takes batteries that you can buy here on Amazon too. I'm REAL Happy with my purchase.

Purchased these to keep a couple for myself and give away to others, especially a senior parent and grandparent. Tested a couple of them and they are certainly loud enough to get some attention. The alarm sound differs slightly from most car alarms which is also important since not everyone is inclined to investigate a car alarm right away.
The only downsides I can see so far are that the box only comes with one set of directions and the design could make folks try to push what looks like a button if they haven't read the directions or tested it first. Because of this, I demonstrated how it works to both older folks (70s and almost 90), specifically mentioned the circle that looks like a button is NOT how you activate it, then asked them to tell me how it works.
To further make sure someone is likely to know how to use it in a panic, I also took a picture of the directions then put 4 copies of that picture on a word document, printed the document, then cut the individual instruction sheets from the single page for distribution. A minor inconvenience.
Pluses: easy to operate, loud enough to get attention, variety of colors to choose your favorite, let other pick the color they want, and/or pick a color that blends in with the clothing or location. I especially appreciate the ability to replace the battery when needed.
Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and have already purchased another set. It's a nice and practical way to demonstrate that you care about someone and their safety.

I loved the idea and colors of this packet of sound alarms. The high pitch LOUD noise is great! The little light is also perfect. However, I'm not sure how easy it would be to actually set the alarm off when in a crisis. It takes two hands – one to hold the piece and the other to pull out the alarm pin. Also, it is not real small so it takes up a lot of space in my little purse. I think it would be great for taking on hikes in the woods or park or when jogging, but doesn't seem compact and easy to use in everyday life.

They work very well and I have given some to relatives and neighbors who walk alone sometimes. Also it’s loud enough to get the attention of people around you. It’s seems everyone ignores car alarms going off these days because they go off so often. Hopefully no one I know will need to use it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
Great to have several of these to strategically put where needed.  They are light weight but loud and distinctive sounding when deployed.  Elderly mom used hers for the first time within hours — minor problem was averted.
