Best Quality Does Not Leak
Camelbak brand is the best quality, especially for runners. I’ve owned several sizes over the years and they still work. This 85oz holds enough water for a long run or bike ride. It does not leak. However, if you accidentally pull the lid apart (as I did at first) from its plastic holder ring you could mistake that as a gasket and try to screw the lid over it. That definitely caused leakage until I figured out that it’s the lid holder. On the inside of the lid there is already a gasket. Hope this helps someone who is having a problem with leakage.

Drinking tube modification I did. WORKS AWESOME!!
I am giving the Camelbak Rogue a true rating of 4.5 because 4 is too low and 5 is too high. Overall a great pack. Nice quality and lots of areas to store the phone, wallet, energy bars etc. You can even store things behind the bladder area from the top of the pack. The bladder has a thick handle you can lift up while filling and the opening is wide enough so you do not spill your water and ice while filling. This allows me to be hands free which is great. The issue is the drinking tube. The tube has a rubber tip that you have to bite and slurp like a straw to get your water. The tube also has an easy to use shut off valve as well to stop the flow of water. I find the rubber tip to be too much work, awkward and the water flow is poor. I don’t want to work to get water when I need it. The fix is to take a razor blade and cut the rubber tip off up to the point where the hard plastic starts. The shut off valve is right by the tip. Have it to off until drinking time then flip it on. The result is lots of easy flowing water.

perfect!
I love this camelback. I bought one for myself and use it all the time. bought this one for my daughter. It’s large enough for big and small hikes. It has a good size pocket for my layers but still light weight. easy to use and easy to clean. I highly recommend this.

One year with the Rogue
Living in North Carolina, I have thousands of miles of mountain bike trails throughout the state and the one thing I never want to be without is water. When I first started riding, I tried taking a single water bottle, only to drink it all in less than an hour on hot summer days.Cutting your ride short because you run out of water is never fun, and I felt it was time to get serious and invest in a hydration pack. CamelBak is a brand that has been around since 1988, and they are known for making packs specifically for mountain biking. The CamelBak Rogue is the one I went with and have used it on every ride I’ve been on since it arrived. The CamelBak Rogue features an 85oz reservoir, Leak-Proof On/Off Valves, a top zippered pocket, and a bottom pocket perfect for your car keys, a multi-tool, or anything else you need to carry that’s small. The back flap lifts up to expose the hydration bladder which features a large cap that CamelBak touts as an “Easy-Open Leak-Proof Cap.” They claim, “it is redesigned for easier refilling and seals shut in just a few twists.”Even though CamelBak claims it’s made for easier refilling and shuts better, I found that not to be the case. I typically fill the bladder by using a refrigerator and with the way it’s positioned it almost always makes a mess. The plastic around the cap is so large that it makes it challenging to unpress the water dispenser, so it stops before spilling water outside the hole. The leak-proof cap is also not as _easy_ as they claim. Because it shuts in just a few twists, you have to be very careful to get the threads lined up; otherwise, it will leak. I caused a few messes for this very reason.Everything from the fabric, to the stitching, is solid, and the Rogue is a sturdy pack. After a year of heavy use, it’s held up surprisingly well even with all the mud rides. Another nice feature is the hydration bladder is removable, and the outside is washable. That is great for keeping it clean and keeping those nasty smells from riding in the hot sun away. The bite valve is large comes with a locking mechanism so you can be certain no water will spill out. Without it in the lock position water will come out even while riding, so I leave mine in the locked position until I’m ready for a drink.I find the tube that runs from the bladder to the valve to be extremely long. I’m a short guy at 5’5” and at times I’ve wanted to cut part of the hose off just so I didn’t have to keep stuffing the excess back into the pouch. As I mentioned earlier I’ve used this pack for every ride and having it with me is part of my routine. I’ve done everything from three to four hour-long rides to quick 3 milers at lunch, and it performs excellently. I’ve even taken a few hard falls and even lightly separated my shoulder while wearing this pack and it still feels as solid as the first day I tried it.Overall I do recommend the CamelBak Rogue hydration pack, and I wouldn’t hesitate to tell anyone to get this pack. I would, of course, mention that they should look out for the cap and to be sure they have it threaded correctly, but otherwise it’s a great hydration pack.Pros:* Cost* Quality Construction* Easy to use bite valveCons:* Filler cap needs more threads* Long Hose

Perfect for cyclists
I got my Rogue through my health benefits and have used it for 4 years, then bought one through Amazon for my dad. It’s perfect for cycling in hot weather: the bladder holds plenty of water and adding ice keeps it nice and cold. The bag itself holds more than it appears. I’ve stuck snacks next to the bladder, and the front pouch expands enough to hold a rain jacket. The bottom pocket has a key clip and the top is big enough for a cell phone. Even loaded down, it rides comfortably on my back. I won’t ride in the summer without it!

Works great!
Bought for my 16 year old son for when he goes to the dunes. Easy to dry out by just putting a few paper towels inside or else freeze water in for super cold water the next time you want to use it! Very lightweight and the quality is amazing!

Las bolsas extra sirven de mucho para llevar herramienta u objetos personales de manera segura. Muy cómoda.

In comparison to my previous basic bladder it’s very usable. Easy to fill with the big opening and handles also when outside and refueling with bottles. Pockets are great since my mtb does not a in frame storage. I give 4 stars for now and see how durable it is.

Instead of carrying 5 bottles on my bike, necessitating a rack and rear bag, I lightened things up and broke down to get a CamelBak, based on positive reviews and athlete friends’ recommendations. this bag has a 2.5L container, but will easily take the 3L bag as a back up bag – you cannot find replacement 2.5L bags by the way, I looked…. and looked. The 3L water bag also has the quick release for the hose, which the 2.5L bag does not. For cleaning, I use either Polident tablets, Baking soda, or soap and water and just fill it up and scrub it out. Doesn’t take long. I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of space for power bars, snacks, phone and little things that one needs. The weight of course reduces as you sip your way through your ride. Very pleased with this bag.
