Finally, something that actually works!
There was only one size available when I ordered this, and I knew it would be too small for my window, but for the price, I wanted to try it anyway.You get a sheet of fabric that feels like the nylon stuff used on umbrellas. One side is black and the other side is silver. You also get a cutting blade, a fabric tape measure, velcro attachments (for if you want to be able to remove the fabric), and sticker attachments (for if you don’t). It all comes in a drawstring bag; I guess to keep the extra bits in?Anyway, my house is a 1956 ranch with the windows that meet in the corner from two different walls. I put this fabric up on the window that gets the most light in the morning.First I had to trim the fabric for the height of the window. It’s easy to cut, but I cannot cut a straight line, and I didn’t have anything to trace a line onto it, so I winged it. It turned out pretty good.Next I figured out where on the window I wanted it. As I said, it didn’t fit the length of my window, so I decided to put it up on the far end of the window and leave a small part near the corner uncovered. I used the velcro adhesives so that I could remove the curtain and be able to open the window when I wanted. You attach one side of the velcro to the window frame, then, what I did, was remove the sticker backing from the other side of the velcro (while still stuck to the window), and stretched the fabric from velcro to velcro (silver side facing the outside) so that I got a taut fit. It worked surprisingly well!When we woke up in the morning, that side of the room was noticeably darker. I closed our bedroom door “just to see” and the room got even darker from blocking out the ambient light from the hallway. (The last 2 photos)I should note that we already had actual curtains up that were labeled as room darkening, and I even ordered them in dark gray. WIth this new “curtain”? absolute game changer. Can’t recommend enough!

A must have if you are not a morning person!
Works well! My south facing bedroom windows shine light in my face every morning at dawn. I admittedly am not a morning person. This blackout curtain was exactly what I needed! Everything you need to install comes with the curtain. I love the flexibility of using the velcro if you think you will be removing the curtain, or the more permanent adhesive if not. While the material is lightweight, the design, with silver outer side and black inner side, effective blocks the light. An unintended bonus, the silver outer side repels heat on hot days. It was easy to install when following the instructions provided.

Very thin, more of a film than curtain but very effective
Even though this ‘curtain’ is thin, it presents an impenetrable barrier to light. Just so you know, calling it a curtain is a stretch. It does not install anything like a curtain, does not look like a curtain, the material is a fabric but feels and looks like a plastic film, and it is far superior than any blackout curtain that I have used in blocking light.It was tested using a 5000 lumen flashlight. Five thousand lumen is incredibly bright. Looking into this flashlight can cause serious problems. Also, the flashlight was used on the tightest beam setting just a few inches from the material. A quick internet search identified that 5000 lumen far exceeds what it will be exposed to on a sunny day. Having such intensity focused on a relatively small area is far beyond what this film will encounter. Still, no light came through. I did not provide a picture because there is nothing to show. It looks the same with and without the light shining directly behind it.The provided picture is of the back. You can see that it has a silver metallic look. That is what will be seen from the outside. Also, the film is creased. The product information (including the “Ask Rufus” feature) did not include information on how to remove the creases. I am reluctant to iron because of the thinness and the plastic-like appearance/feel of the fabric.It comes with the items pictured, which include velcro, a cutter, and a rather large measuring tape. Everything is stored in a cloth bag. The tape is a nice touch and its size makes it easy to read, but a retractable tape measure is easier to use. Insulation is flexible making customization a part of the selling point for this item.Based on the extreme efficiency in blocking light and its inclusion of everything needed to customize for your specific need, I feel justified in rating with five stars. The only down side is the creases that can be stretched out to some extent upon insulation, or perhaps by ironing if you are that concerned and willing to take a risk. However, blocking light is its function and it does that perfectly so creases are not a big concern to me.

This does what it says and looks exactly like the pictures. It was super easy to cut to size, but it’s not very easy to get it flush against the window. It looks…. Cheap at best. I wouldn’t repurchase this. Although the adhesives are super strong! Gave it 3 stars because it does what it says,but because it’s so difficult to get it flush with the windows, it lets light in a little. I had to go back and tape the rest or the perimeter that wasn’t attached to the adhesives.

Once cut to size, works just fine. Oh and do NOT use that envelope opener to cut to size as you will never cut a straight line. The English/metric tape will be handy in my wifes sewing basket.A note – lost a star as the supplied Velcro comes only in black and looks terrible on a white wall. Got some 3m white at a big box store

Blocks out all the light. Easy installation. The adhesive is pretty good. Large size to cover most windows. Thick enough to have durability but not so much that it is hard to manipulate. Can be a pain to adjust the fit when you got to cut it to fit.

This really made a difference! I used it for those summer months on my single pane windows. It made a difference in the room temperature when I got off work. It blocks out light enough so if I took a nap it made the room cozy and dark. Thickness and ease of cutting the material were decent.
