Took on a 20 mile hike with me just in case. It came in handy! I was able to bind up a bad gash I got from falling. It’s light enough for backpacking and has everything needed to clean and bandage right up.

Decent kit for basics
This is a pretty good kit that can handle the basics. Lots of band-aids. LOTS of band-aids. Most are in the “regular” size, but there are also a good variety of some of the other types you only occasionally seem to need but never have on hand: butterfly, fingertip, some larger ones. Gauze, antiseptic pads, tape, a pretty decent set of trauma shears. One instant ice pack (those can come VERY much in handy).The case is semi-rigid. It’ll keep things from getting easily crushed if it gets knocked about in the trunk, say, but would not keep things from getting smooshed if you put something heavier on top of it. The mesh compartments inside are good for keeping things separated, and have a bit of flexibility to them. It’s not a spectacular set, but it’ll do the job for most people. Could use more antiseptics.Part of the loss of star is the labeling. One side has the usual First Aid logo and the words “First Aid Kit”…and right below that, the brand name, in a font nearly the same size. (oh, and the entire thing is just slightly askew) On the back, the brand names (parent company and sub-brand), in *larger font* than “First Aid Kit” on the front…and no indication that it’s a first aid kit. Just the brand name. So, there’s more advertising for the company than to tell you it’s a First Aid kit. I have no problem with a company putting their name on things, I get it. But this is excessive. And if you’re putting lettering on the back, why not include what’s IN the case? Especially a First Aid kit? Grrrr.Anyway. Good basic, decent case. It’ll do what I wanted, and I shall not be needing basic sized band-aids for a good LONG time, lol.
