UNRELIABLE! DOESN’T Eork
UPDATE: I ended up hookingthis onto my dog’s collar (since I see stories about missing dogs on NextDoor DAILY). Well, thankfully, my dog did not run away, but the tracker did somehow detach while he was playing in our fenced in yard! (note: at the time I had no idea when or where it fell off his collar, but I did notice it wasn’t there within an hour or so of it falling off).So I used the ‘Find My’ app to try to locate it, but the app kept saying that it couldn’t locate the tracker! All it said was that it had full battery, and that it was last seen at my home address a few days prior. SO I kept walking around the house & our route outside— anywhere that it logically might have been- but the app wasn’t able to play a sound to alert its location, & it kept saying the tracker was “offline”! Very Very frustrating!Moral of the story— I found it 3 weeks later, by chance, in my backyard!!! So it would have definitely been connected to my home wifi, and there should have been no issue with the ‘find my’ app playing an alert sound on it as it was SO close to me MANY TIMES I tried to use that feature!I can’t even think about what woulda happened if my dog actually ran away! This thing does NOT work. Don’t waste your money!!!

It does NOT track in real time!
I bought these tracking devices after my grandson kept misplacing his cell phone. I placed one on his phone and one on my granddaughter’s phone did I realize the battery didn’t last long at all. My grandson took it off his phone and for a week it showed the very last time the tracking had picked up. When I pressed the feature to play the sound nothing happened. After locating the device and removing it from it from devices on my phone, it could not be reassigned. The battery was completely dead after a week. My assumption is as long it’s tracking the battery is fine. The last one that I have active does not track in real time. It’ll show a location and be stuck at that location for a hour or more before it updates. I could not send it back because we misplaced one and the date had expired.

It’s probably the battery!
I got these during the July Amazon event for a vacation. First the pluses: They are very price competitive iOS tracker. Second they come with rubber like protective cover, lanyard if you need them, batteries are replaceable and a small profile. We used them in suitcases, backpack, carry on for vacation. We took them out and used them for wallet and passport holder that had built in iOS round slot to fit the tracker as we were traveling internationally. So they are versatile and fit in apple tracker designed items.The drawbacks: one did not work out of the package. I was about to return them or go with one tracker less on vacation when I decided to see if the “two year lithium battery” might be the cause. It’s not easy to open the case to remove the battery. Eventually you’ll be able to twist off the metal cap. Replaced with standard duracell non lithium battery and….it works! Given the set was turned off it seems that 75% of the lithium batteries work and at least one is defective. By the way, these lithium powered battery trackers are TSA and EU TSA safe, to be included in checked in luggage.The second issue was actually tracking. Some of the tags when I checked on plane etc said tag could not be located! So for instance, returning home, one tag said item was last noted back in Europe and wasn’t on plane nor in US when I returned. So figured they lost check in bag. Nope it arrived but tag never worked on return flight.. similar issues on way out to Europe. Not my job to diagnose whether lousy lithium batteries or bad product so quality consistency is an issue!

Not Reliable
Not reliable. Huge time lapses on location. Can’t refresh as needed. Bought the pack of four and all trackers get stuck for hours without refreshing and with no way of locating current location. They each update randomly at different points of the day. Even if one updates three minutes ago, another may show last update 5 hours ago. The battery life seems fine. I’m really disappointed after reading all of the great reviews. I bought these for safety so there is no peace of mind with this product. Don’t waste your time or money. Go with the reliability of Apple or another product that you trust from the beginning.
