I’m a novice beekeeper. A couple of my hives are gentle and I don’t need to wear any protective gear to get into them to inspect. My other two need to be requeened because they are extra-spicy. When I’m geared up, especially the gloves, I can’t work my phone camera. Sometimes I just want to get pics so I can zoom in later to verify I see eggs; sometimes I want to take a pic of something to reference later. Doesn’t really matter why – just matters that my gloves hinder the photo taking. Besides, whether I’m photographing or videoing, putting the phone down and picking it back up takes time and means I am exposing the open hive to the elements, robber bees, etc. for longer than I should.This is where this tripod comes in.1. It gets up to 67”, well taller than my hives so I can actually angle it down toward the hive while I work.2. If I’m photographing instead of videoing, the remote is super easy to use, even with gloves3. The ground is flat where I have my hives so the tripod stands with easy, even in a breeze.4. Instructions are included, but I only needed them to figure out how to extend the neck (?) and learn that I needed to bluetooth the remote to my phone.- In case you are wondering, you just have to pull the neck up to extend it.- super easy to Bluetooth into my android phone (Google Pixel)Unfortunately, I’m not showing you any of this right now because1. It’s too cold to open the hive right now.2. My bucks and wethers are out in that pasture and I don’t need their “help” with the beehives.Anyhoo….totally recommend this tripod! The height, the sturdiness, the easy of use…perfect! Oh, and it goes back together nice and tight – kind of looks like a 13.5” umbrella.

Expect this to be great
In terms of size, this is essentially about the size of an umbrella. This is a super compact and surprisingly tall solution to taking pictures of your entire family while on vacation. The camera head can tilt forwards and backwards, as well as side to side, and of course you can go up and down so you can get pretty much any shot you are looking for. The scale of the height was very surprising, it’s amazing that this thing can get above 5 foot for a nice high-level picture of your family. The remote was super convenient and has a nice shut off switch on the back to save battery, and was very responsive to actually taking the picture. Speaking of in the picture, I have a 15 max that isn’t super difficult to get mounted. Given the size I’m surprised how stable it was, although I think on uneven surfaces, you’re not gonna be able to do full extension. Two things of note, neither of which would stop me from purchasing again. The First is that the wrist strap is on the remote, given that it looks like an umbrella. People are going to be tempted to pick it up by the wrist strap. The second thing is that the legs do not lock when extended, and of course you can’t change the length of any of the legs to accommodate uneven ground. I think this is a great value for the money and in a super convenient and compact form factor. Don’t hesitate to buy at the Black Friday price.
