This is a great product because It protects your drapes and/or your blinds from getting hammered by the sun on those pesky south facing windows. This saves you money. If you need some light or you need to see out just use a clothes pin or two. I really really like this product and it’s everything the seller says it is and more.

This is an efficient, inexpensive way to get the blackout effect! Also super easy and it doesn’t have to be perfect to work!Purchased this for our newborn’s room as we transitioned him to his crib from bassinet in our room.This is a massive length of fabric that you can customize and cut to fit.I measured and cut just with scissors so it honestly was not an even cut, but after attaching with the sticky adhesive to the window ( you can do the Velcro but I am ok with it not being removable at the moment) it is hidden behind the blinds and doesn’t matter and from the outside just looks like a curtain.Even with my imperfect cut and a slight gap due to my placement error, it still blocks out light.I don’t have a great before or after pic, however the bedroom right next to it can have light streaming in and this room looks like it’s the middle of the night 24/7 without our hatch light.Theres tons of fabric left over even after I didn’t measure twice to cut once. Haha

Are these worth the money?? YES.
These removable window shade coverings claim to block the heat from your home by blacking out sunlight. And they definitely have a blackout effect but I don’t really notice a temperature drop- YET. I was only able to cover 4 of my 7 living room windows with this shade pack. My windows are nearly floor to ceiling in height- so I was delighted to have covered 4 windows with just a single pack! And so quickly too! But anyways, I’ll have to order one more pack and then let you all know if it’s noticeably cooler in my living room! For now though, it is certainly noticeably darker in my house- yay ! I’m confident that these shades will help keep my house so much cooler during this scorching hot summer, as soon as I get a second pack to cover all the windows. I’ll be sure to update this review when that happens ;)And just for anyone wondering about the installation process, the 157″×57″ shade pack was perfect for covering 4 of my massive windows and it was really easy to do. All I had to do was measure my windows and then grab a scissors to cut the appropriate rectangles. I was shocked at just how simple it was to do this. I didn’t have to deal with slippery fabric or fight to keep the shade material straight while I snipped away. That was really surprising. It just lays flat and stays in one spot! I figured that knowing how clumsy I am with a scissors that (despite the fabric behaving so nicely for me) the shades would still come out looking jagged or wonky. But I gave it a try and proceeded to cut the shades at the approximate size which I needed. It was so easy to do and looks really nice considering that I’m not a pro at cutting things and considering how I eyeballed the correct size for my panels and just made slices. They look really nice with clean edges. I think that the material itself just allows for clean cuts- maybe it’s the type of weave. It definitely felt fool-proof to me.Anyhow, the velcro stickers were a bit trickier to apply. The tape which covers the adhesive was sometimes annoying to peel back, hard to grab a corner to remove- but I managed. It occasionally took several attempts to get the velcro adhesive sides to stick to my windows after I peeled back the sticker and pressed them down. But with some determination and windows cleaner it worked out nicely. It’s been several very hot days and the shades are still exactly where I placed them! Not a single one has fallen down! That’s impressive in this insanely hot summer weather. For 20 bucks you really can’t go wrong with this product. A cheap blackout shade which gives you great value and quick solution for your windows. I’m definitely ordering more.

Good for an odd sized window.
We got this for an odd window. My mother in law has a cabin and when we visit we sleep up in the loft. The loft has two windows that are oddly shaped and do not have curtains on them. The cabin is in the woods and the windows overlook part of the roof so there isn’t anyone looking in, but those windows let in a lot of morning light. These blackout curtains were able to be cut and we use them to cover both windows. I don’t think you need to put in a seam, but we did hem the seams. We simply put up a rod that allowed us to set the curtains on the nails and take them off again when we are not there. The nails are unobtrusive and we can fold away the curtains into a drawer when we are not using them.They are plenty dark enough to block out most of the light.

These are brilliant, really effective at blocking out the light but I’ve also been using them to cool the room in a recent heatwave which has worked really well. The material is strong and easy to cut to size and has held up well at the window. If you have a large window you might find you need some extra velcro pads as there weren’t quite enough supplied for an even fit, for me id also prefer if they supplied white ones as the black ones provided look quite ugly on my windows when not in use but they are strong and do a good job.

Amazing black out blind. I was sceptical due to the low pricing, but it is fantastic. We have a very large window so being able to cut to measure was great. Very easy to do & very easy to put up. It fit perfect with zero light coming in.It came yesterday & i put it up lastnight for my 4yr old who wakens early. She woke at 6am this morning & because it was pitch black in the room she went back asleep til 7.30 🎉Usually she would be up for the day cos it would be bright.My only negative or critisism would be that the velcro things are black. They would be great white as they wouldnt stand out as much on the window frames.

If installed properly these work a treat fully blackout your rooms might be a bit of an eyesore for some with Velcro sticky pads as they have to go on the window frame but it’s the trade off for darkness and not having to put any fixings into your wall, You do need to cut them to size so will have to measure up and cut yourself but this was easy to do.
