Versatile Great Fitting Swim Skort
This is a wonderful swim skort. I ordered my usual size medium and the fit is perfect, the under shorts are snug and provide excellent tummy control, but also comfort. The shorts underneath have a pocket, which fit my keys and driver’s license, which is convenient for walking. These skorts are advertised for swimming but they are also great for walking, or casual outings. They look nice on, stylish and casual, for shopping at a store or having lunch out. They pair nicely with a variety of swim tops and athletic tops. The material is sturdy and the skorts are well made. They are versatile and perfect for travel, as they can be used for a variety of activities because they are stylish, fit great and look wonderful. They look great with tankini tops as well as other styles of swim tops. The skorts are ideal for swimming at the beach and then going for a walk. I highly recommend this item.

This Sythyee Swim Skirt Skort is not really as labeled. It does not function as a swim skirt, without you also wearing something underneath, because there are no built in “drawers” – just shorts with a seam right up the middle. The single small pocket that exists, also can’t be for swimming because it does not have a zipper, so anything you put in there is immediately going to fall out in the water and be lost.This is instead a quick-dry skort for wearing out, or active wear. For which it would be fine, but the material is very thin. The inner shorts are very easily ripped and they are not made with enough stretch to be comfortable around the upper legs, especially if you have any shape.There is no inner tag, so no clarity on which side is the front vs. the back, making these difficult to use. It also makes them unsafe, because there are no fabric labels nor wash instructions attached, as clothes should have.These are smaller than labeled – I’m glad I sized up, because I am typically a S – XS but did not want this to be tight. I wanted it to ride lower on my hips, so I ordered a Medium instead. And yet, that size just fits me. It looks fine on me, but this particular one I have would not fit someone who was actually in the range of their M per the chart. The measurements were incorrect.Additionally, this should have hand pockets – ideally with zippers since it is meant to be for active wear and supposedly for swimming – as other competing brands do.The product is ok, but needs to be better quality, better value per the price, and needs to either be relabeled – or the sizes changed and the item remade to be suitable for its stated purposes.I would have expected this skort to cost half as much, for what it is – and given what it is not. I have bought a fair number of this type of item to be able to compare, and this does not stack up to others.
Staying afloat –
A little big and/or a little weak
Runs a little large, I ordered a small, and I’m pretty small at about 105 lb… But it was pretty big ish. On the other hand, if the fabric was a little more substantial it might not have felt quite so big. All of the fabrics felt just a little thin or a weak… And with a thicker more spandex type feel maybe it wouldn’t have seemed loose… Anyway the pocket on the inside of the skirt/outside of the short part is nice. I don’t think I care much for the slit in the bottom… And I happen to wear swim dresses and swim skirts quite a bit so the form factor isn’t playing a role in my rating. I like wearing skirts / dresses pretty much all the time including with my swimwear… Shown with a standard household size pair of scissors for size reference.

Very nice
This is just great. I plan on wearing this for more than just the swimming pool. It looks like a casual skirt I could wear to the grocery store without having to change my clothes. At 5’8″ and 173 lbs. I ordered the XL and it is perfect in size. The styling is very attractive.

I ordered this swim skirt, not specifically for swimming, but in hopes of using it as a skort for hiking and outdoor activities, due to its length and bicycle short liners. That is possible, of course, but the fabric has that sheen that is typical of swimsuit material, so it might not “pass” for athletic wear. When wet, the skirt seems like a lot of clingy fabric. As for modesty, there is coverage, but the skirt material is thin enough to reveal a silhouette if the wearer is between the viewer and a bright light. Also, swim skirts tend to hold air and float when the wearer enters the water, and these shorts are pretty thin, so they may be more revealing than expected if these are used for swimming.I’m typically a size 8 with 41” hips, but the fit of the L/Large skirt is looser than it should be according to the sizing chart. Being slightly loose, it is comfortable to wear while dry. There is no “tummy control” in the design other than a wide waistband. If the fit was tighter, the waistband might provide some “control,” but the “adjustable string” (which I initially mistook for a hanging loop and wore in the back) is just a thin ribbon that encircles the waist in a continuous loop. To tighten it, the loop would need to be knotted but it would not be as easy to unknot as pulling the ends of a normally tied drawstring would be.The shorts underneath are comfortable but don’t have any compression (or “tummy control”): great if you don’t like binding clothing, but not great if you think they’ll keep sand out. The pocket on the right leg of the shorts is roomy enough for my large phone, but the phone creates a bulge in the side of the skirt. The product page bullets mention a second pocket “on the waist back” but I can find no such pocket on the skirt or the shorts. As for construction, the side seams don’t lie flat, in a way that indicates something isn’t quite right with the sewing, or maybe just because it’s too big, but otherwise the garment seems well-made.While some of these issues might go away if I tried a size Medium, some of them won’t. I’m not impressed with the product page describing features that this skort doesn’t have. Despite this, I’ll still be able to use the skirt for the outdoor activities I had planned to use it for, so I’m giving it 3 stars.
