More versatile then the non-cable shorter locks
There are lots of various styles of these locks out there and I have a few different varieties of them. I have found that I prefer the one’s like this where you have a long cable vs shorter hard metal. With the long cable you have the option to use it for a suit case or duffel or anything else. For example on a duffel I can actually lock the opening and then depending on you bag I can also lock side/front compartment at the same time due to the longer cable. I also prefer this over the others because of the top release button. I can leave the cable in place even though it’s unlocked and push the button when I want it release as opposed to the others without it where once unlocked you have to lock again and change dial to keep it in place and then put in combination again to release. I know its a small thing but once at where I’ll going I like to have it unlocked but in place until I’m ready to pack again vs the lock just hanging. Misplaced several locks that way. Also the numbers are easy to read which is big for this old and senile person who’s has a hard time reading smaller print. I know it’s easier to cut then a true hard metal thick lock but at the same time if a thief get’s your bag they’re going to be able to cut either and if the lock malfunctions it’s easier for me on the road to find something to cut the cable vs a hard metal lock.
