True blackout, easy to install, ideal for travel or rentals
Story / Use Case:Used this in an RV and later in a room with poor curtain coverage. Needed something non-permanent that could block morning light completely. Cut it to fit odd-sized windows and applied it directly to the glass.What I Like:- Completely blocks out sunlight—works better than many blackout curtains.- Can be cut to exact dimensions with scissors or utility knife.- No drilling or adhesive residue—sticks with static or included velcro tabs.- Lightweight and folds flat for packing or storage.What I Dislike:- Can create a “sealed” feel—no light or air passes, which may not suit every room.- Edges can peel slightly in high humidity or heat unless firmly pressed.Tips / Technical Notes:Clean the window glass before applying for best adhesion. If reusing in multiple locations, roll it loosely to avoid creases.Bottom Line:Great temporary blackout solution for travel, rentals, or RVs—true light blocker with flexible fit.

Not a curtain, but works well to block light, and is removable
This material works, but it’s NOT a curtain; so if you need a curtain, skip this.The photo Amazon shows with the green “front” and “back” shown is the most accurate representation of what you’ll get. It’s a thin fabric, reflective, silver on one side and black on the other. It includes a good deal of Velcro so that you can Velcro it to your window. It was big enough for me to cut in half and fit exactly 2 bedroom window windows. My kid wanted sheets; but she didn’t consider how much sun they would allow in.This material allows her to have the sheers, but then Velcro the fabric back up when she’s ready for bed. You can cut the Velcro in a number of different ways to fit your window, which I appreciate.

Great for Blocking Out Light
These black out curtains are great and easy to install. I love that you can custom fit it to any window. We used these in our children’s room to help at night to promote better sleep. The room was nice and dark and little light was visible in the morning. We are able to easily remove it and put it back up at night if we want to. This is great for travel as well because you can bring it with you, install it ,and take it down with little effort. I definitely want to get more of these for all our bedrooms. My husbands works overnights so this will help him get sleep during the day without the sun light bothering him.

Works well, could have been better
From a practical standpoint, this window blackout kit works as described. Here are 3 photos, all taken at mid-morning on a fairly sunny day. The 1st pic is with curtain and closed blinds only. The 2nd pic is with curtain, closed blinds and the blackout material, but really does not show the full effect; it’s actually better illustrated in the 3rd pic (curtain, closed blinds and blackout material) where I have left the light on. So, yes, it is very effective at blocking out light from the outdoors. I have just put them in place and the included velcro seems to be working well.That being said, the way it is packaged (flat, with all kinds of folds in it) makes it nearly impossible to get accurate measurements. And all of those folds show up both from inside and from outside the window. They likely will never go away, unless the heat helps to remove them. Time will tell.As far as portability, that seems like a silly concept, i.e., taking them down, packing them up, and them re-attaching them to a window frame that is unlikely to be the same size. Better off just getting another kit.And speaking of kits, it comes in a silly drawstring bag with a cloth measuring tape. Unless for some reason you don’t already own either a ruler, a tape measure or both, these things are not necessary. The seller probably saved a bit on shipping costs, but It would have been better spent on shipping this item rolled up, as it should have been.I’m probably a bit harsh in my criticism, as it has done the job for me. But I can only give it 3 stars.

Blocks light well, easy to fold up
This blocks out light well, and is much thinner than a regular blackout curtain. The velcro makes it convenient to attach and seal off a window while still being easy to remove. Even without removing it, you can just fold it up where it is to open the window back up because the material is thin and easy to fold up.

Travel friendly blackout shade
Bought this mainly for portability and damage free installation. I think it would be a wonderful option for parents traveling with napping children as most airbnbs have such thin curtains that let in so much light. Product comes with travel bag so I do think this is one of the primary intended uses. I also appreciate that it is made of material that can block both light and heat. I plan to try this for my college kid’s dorm. Looks pretty simple to set up.

Lightweight and darkness
I like blackout curtain which is lightweight that I could hang on the window easily. The package comes with accessories and measuring tape.The curtain has 2 sides – black and silver. I believe the silver could reflect the sunlight and keep the room cold. Overall, I enjoy the darkness of my room.
